Calina on 15 March 2013, nine days before giving birth to the C litter
1 OCT UPDATE: Calina is doing very well after two weeks at her new home with Emily and James in the Wairarapa.
Sadly, we have decided it is time to find a new home for Calina – our 6-year-old retired queen.
Queen is exactly the right word, for Calina took charge of our home from the moment she arrived as a 12-week-old kitten, and has been the alpha cat ever since. She was an adventurous kitten and is very clever (e.g. figuring out how to open latched doors!). The other cats all defer to her but she is also loving and gentle.
After she had given birth to six beautiful litters, we decided to spay Calina.
And now, with another female about to arrive, our home is getting crowded and we know that Calina needs to find a new family for the rest of her life. This will be a wonderful opportunity for a family to get a low-allergen Siberian cat without having to wait up to 18 months for a suitable kitten.

If you are interested in adopting Calina, please contact us as soon as possible.
We have only 2 stipulations:
- You must love her and care for her as much as we have.
- You must commit to keeping her indoors (or in a securely cat-proofed yard) as she has been an indoor cat all her life and would be at extreme risk if allowed to roam. Sorry, but this is non-negotiable.
