Most popular names for kittens

VetStreet.com says the most popular kitten names in the USA for 2012 were Bella and Max. Old favourites such as Smokey and Tiger still make the top 10 too.

As breeders, our kittens’ names are significant. The first letter indicates the litter from which they came.

In most cases, buyers have chosen to keep the names we’ve bestowed on the kittens. But with Calina’s B Litter, most of the names got changed.

• Byron became Archie
• Bailey became Stoli
• Barney became Remy

while Biko and Baxter have retained their birthnames – so far at least.

But whatever we call them, I somehow doubt that it makes any difference at all to the kitten.
