Choosing kitten names is something Judee and I spend a lot of time on. We try to choose names that are a bit unusual, but not too hard to remember or pronounce. And we try to match them to the kittens’ characteristics and what we perceive of their personalities – even though they are only a few days old.
I also like names that are two syllables, so most of them follow that pattern.
In this case, I really felt strongly that the ginger should be Barney.
So [drum roll] here are the names for Calina’s “B” litter (her second litter since moving to New Zealand):
The kittens, in birth order, are:
- Bailey – male seal point
- Baxter – male flame point
- Barney – male ginger tabby with white
- Byron – male seal lynx point
- Biko – male black tabby with white
