Four-month-old Siberian kitten Nuri, 29 Aug 2017

We received this nice note from Nuri‘s family in Auckland yesterday:

Nuri, on the climbing post that Graeme built, 11 Aug 2017

Nuri continues to thrive and bring such joy to our family. Graeme was enthusiastic from the first day and quickly built a super tower for Nuri to play on. Nuri takes a full-force run at the tower and swings around the pole onto the bucket. He pulls and wrestles with the toys on the bungy cords and takes them to his ‘crow’s nest’ after the final capture. He loves to be high and his location is near my desk so he can keep an eye on me and the birds flying by.

15-week-old Siberian kitten Nala, 31 July 2017

Here’s Siberian kitten Nala who now lives with Jamie, Taliah, Meila and Carter on Auckland’s North Shore. She’s a pretty chilled kitten, wouldn’t you say?

Taliah wrote to us a few weeks ago:

It’s only been two days but Nala has slotted into our family so easily. She is purring VERY loudly on my lap as I write this email to you. She has her nose snuggled into my jumper and is curled up in a fluffy ball. If I am reclining slightly she climbs up and snuggles under my chin – so cute!

I have attached a couple of photos for you. You are welcome to use these on your site. There is a hilarious one of her lying asleep, almost upside down, on the back of a couch. I think it demonstrates that she is feeling relaxed and at home here already!

As you had explained to us, Nala is extremely social. She follows us around and starts purring loudly as soon as we pick her up. We are loving how much of a lap cat she is and how gentle and cuddly she is. Nala is eating well and took to using her litter tray straight away.

The kids have been amazing with her. They are learning when she wants play time (which is most of the time) and when she wants some quiet time. Her favourite toy is the little tunnel – which she zips through all the time! She sits on my lap in the evenings and is very good at being transplanted onto her blanket, having a treat and then going off to sleep at ‘lights out’ time. We didn’t hear any crying at night time.

You have raised a beautiful fur baby, thank you! We are in love already.

Five sleepy Siberian kittens, 5 Aug 2017

Allergen testing of the four O Litter kittens has been completed, and the samples have arrived at the lab in the United States. We should have results in a week or so.

All but one of the N Litter kittens have gone to their new homes, with Niko scheduled to depart early next week. Meantime he is enjoying the company of the O kittens as you can see from this photo I took last evening.

Pushinka at 15 weeks old at her new home, 30 July 2017

Nadia‘s new family in Auckland has renamed her Pushinka, which means “fluffy” in Russian.

If the name Pushinka sounds familiar, it was the name of one of US President John F Kennedy’s dogs, a gift from Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev.

Siberian kitten Nuri at 15 weeks old at her new home, 30 July 2017

It’s been a bittersweet few days at Seacliffe Siberians as we farewell the N kittens. But, as usual, they’ve gone to wonderful, loving homes. And we’ve enjoyed getting photos, such as this one of Nuri, focused on Da Bird toy.

Nuri now lives with Jan and her family in Auckland.

Also this week, we have begun allergen testing the O Litter. If all goes according to schedule, we should have results late next week.

The N and O kittens enjoy afternoon tea, 24 July 2017

The N Litter and O Litter kittens have all developed enormous appetites and come running at the sound of food preparation – many times each day!

We spend a lot of time opening tins and washing dishes, as you can imagine.

Here’s a recent video of our N Litter and O Litter kittens getting together for some play time.

They get along perfectly well, and their mums aren’t fussed at all.

These three little guys were snoozing on one of our 2m-tall climbing posts this morning. Of course they woke up as soon as I began taking photos, but I think they wanted to go back to sleep!

And where, you might ask, were Nadia and Nougat? Under Judee’s desk having a nap!
