Suki (formerly known as Mira from our M Litter) lives in Sydney, where she continues to entertain her family:

We are slowly discovering the many sides to beautiful Suki’s personality. For all intents and purposes she is our Suki but occasionally when she’s looking particularly adorable and cute, we call her Suki-lala. In contrast, her many hidden talents are slowly appearing, such as leaping onto tall objects (in a single bound) and running (faster than a speeding bullet) at the slight sign of a reflection on the floor or ceiling. Other talents include being able to contort her ample proportions, allowing her to fit into any space half her body size and ambushing us in a show of unparalleled stealthiness. For these moments she becomes ‘The Sukinator’!

Mira, now renamed Suki, lives in Sydney, where she is bringing lots of low-allergen joy to the family.

Paula writes:

Suki has slotted into family life with ease. I never believed I would be able to have a kitty in my home, let alone enjoy the cuddles and the lap time I’ve been getting. I’ve always suffered from severe reactions to cats: sneezing, hives, itchy eyes, culminating in asthma.

My allergies were very, very mild when Suki first came home and have since all but disappeared! I still pinch myself and can’t believe how fortunate we are to have become her forever family.

The kids have jumped into their added responsibilities without complaint. James is on poop duty and Eleni responsible for washing the litter box once a week and giving Suki a brush. I’ll often find Suki sitting with one or the other during homework time. Suki is very egalitarian when it comes to sharing the love around.

I still find that she follows me from room to room and never really lets me out of sight but she’s become a roly-poly kitty, that loves running the length of the house during her energetic bouts of ‘play-time’ and letting me know it’s time to join in.

Scott has made a 2-metre scratching post (thanks for the inspiration Neil) and she loves being high up. She plays with her ‘kitty tunnel’, scratching post (eternally grateful she only ever scratches there) assorted balls, toy mice and has discovered the basket that holds all our balls of wool! I’ll often see Suki on one of many window sills, watching the birds. She makes a strange little clicking sound when she sees them.

In the mornings she’s shown an interest in running water from the shower or basins. She will play under a running tap and sit outside the shower door telling us she wants in.

She’s brought a ton of laughter, smiles and some tears (mostly mine because I’m a sook and love her so much) and I feel we’re lucky to have all found each other. We all appreciate your kindness and care for Suki and our family. It was great visiting and taking the time to feel at ease with a kitty after all these years. I had some serious doubts about being able to ever care for a cat again and I’m so glad that we found you and now have a have a new member of the family.

Suki is the former Mira from our M litter. She lives in Sydney now with Scott and Paula who had been on our list for quite a while, as they needed an extremely low allergen kitten.

They had previously tried a Siberian from an Australian breeder but discovered that not all Siberians are low-allergen! At Seacliffe Siberians we test all our kittens for the protein that causes most allergic reactions, and Suki’s rating was extremely low.

It sounds like Scott and Paula’s new kitten was well worth the wait.

Scott writes:

Everything is going great. Suki has settled in really well, and showing some signs of her mischievous mother! Generally, she is very needing of cuddles and attention (which she is getting bucket loads of, at the moment!), and is very attentive to us (I’mm sure she thinks she is human).

She has the most beautiful and delicate meow, and knows exactly when to use it. It’s almost like she is trying to talk to us!

The kids adore her, and can’t leave her alone, so constant handling and cuddles at the moment, but she is loving the attention.

Yesterday was an especially exciting today for Seacliffe Siberians, with two of our graduates in the air simultaneously.

Young Mira was flying from Auckland to her new home in Sydney, where she was given a new name: “Suki”.

And Beth, Wellington’s famous “cat on a leash”, was making her way to Barcelona via Dubai to rejoin her mom Helen on sabbatical.

Both kitties are now ensconced in their new homes and, as you can see from the photos, getting familiar with the important features of their surroundings.

10-week-old Siberian kitten Mira, 7 March 2017

Mira is a beautiful black/brown tabby. She and her three littermates are almost 12 weeks old, and we will start testing their allergen levels in a few days – good news for the families on our waiting list!

Here’s the second of our four M Litter Siberian kittens – Mira.

Yes, she looks very much like her slightly older sister, Malinka. Both are black/brown tabbies.
